Habakkuk Champion, Dr. Corey Ponder, Completes 2,222 OMNIBotics Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Replacement Surgery
Habakkuk champion, Dr. Corey Ponder, orthopedic surgeon at St. Anthony’s Bone and Joint Hospital, recently completed his 2,222 OMNIBotics® robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery on Sept. 25. The first orthopedic surgeon in Oklahoma to utilize OMNIBotics® technology, Dr. Ponder’s milestone contributes to OMNIlife science™, Inc.’s 17,000 total procedures.
The OMNIBotics® technology allows Dr. Ponder a variety of advantages including intraoperative flexibility, ultra-fine precision, patient specific planning and confirmation of proposed corrections. The patient, suffering from severe pain and difficulty standing and walking, benefitted greatly from the total knee replacement.
“The advanced technology of OMNIBotics® provides me the tool to perform knee replacements with patient-specific accuracy and precision. The platform allows for maximal efficiency and flexibility to restore joint alignment and kinematics and achieve successful surgical outcomes. Combined with the industry leading service and wisdom provided by the team at Habakkuk, the future of robotically-assisted joint replacement is more promising than ever,” says Dr. Ponder.
OMNIlife Science™ Inc. explains that the OMNIBotics’® system enables optimized implant placement using robotics driven by OMNI’s proprietary ART™ software. This equipment gives surgeons the ability to efficiently plan a specific procedure for each individual patient using a patented intra-operative 3-D modeling technique that no longer requires preoperative CT scans or x-rays. Therefore, resulting in a more precise alignment of the knee implant that many surgeons believe can lead to more rapid recovery and a more natural feeling knee replacement.
Habakkuk’s Founder and CEO, Clay Steves, is proud to partner with some of the best surgeons in the region and provide them with quality technology.
